Uh-Oh SpaghettiO, Brisbane

Uh-Oh SpaghettiO is a fast paced pasta joint in the heart of vibrant Fortitude Valley, where Brisbane comes to life after dark.

With a fresh colourful interior palette injected into the historic brick building, the clients yearned for the lighting design and a special lighting feature which would become iconic to their new venture.

The sculpture Neon Spaghetti was conceived.

Strings of Hot Pink Neon Spaghetti draw costumers into the restaurant from the street, hover above the dining bar then dance up the stairs to create an intertwined gathering above the stair landing. They then subside turning left towards the 1st level bar and right towards the balcony dining area.

The sculpture reflects in all the windows of the ground floor and 1st floor, creating wonderful infinite reflections which engage with the street traffic and the renown Beat night club opposite.

The bottle display joinery of the 1st floor is encircled with light emitting from behind, forming a halo against the polished concrete wall, while blue lighting from the street side balcony enters through the glazing creating additional lighting effects to the pink and warm white of the bar area.

The back dining balcony, and the outdoor courtyard dining area, are illuminated by various sized large glow-ball pendant lights strung at different heights, reminiscent of European alfresco and bistro dining.

The collection of Neon Spaghetti, Glowing pendants, and blue light certainly adds some dynamic fun, colour and hues to the eclectic Uh-Oh SpaghettiO.
