Moore Park Residence, Sydney

The lighting design of this heritage house required some consideration to the original decorative interior elements and style.

The clients are avid art collectors and displayed an extensive art work comprising of numerous sketches down the long entry hallway.  To light these art works we used deeply set wall-washers to wash light down the walls – and hence illuminate the artworks. Although there was little ceiling space to install the downlights as the ceiling was highly decorated, we were able to bring a lovely warm glow of light to their art.

We also used very delicate antique chandeliers in the entry hall and guest bedroom within the original part of the house.

The extension at the back required contemporary lighting to suit the modern design. Square metal trim downlights were used for functionality in the kitchen area and as an aesthetic nod to the straight linear nature of the architecture.
